Sewer Authority

Please note: If you are a Township resident and are not hooked up to the municipal sewer system,  problems or questions about your on-lot septic system should be directed to Stroud Township Sewage Officer Helen Beers at 570-421-3362, not the Sewer Authority. 

Stroud Township Sewer Authority, a municipal authority, was incorporated on February 24, 1989 for the purpose of undertaking and over seeing the township’s $29 million dollar sewer project. During the original 1989 sewer project, 35 miles of gravity sewer mains and laterals were installed. The Sewer Authority currently has a customer base of 2,513 (3,767 EDU’s).

The Sewer Authority is a seven (7) member volunteer board appointed by the Board of Supervisors for a five year term.

Current appointed Sewer Authority members are: Angela McKenzie, W. Richard Taitt, Seth Tanner, Richard Houloose, Mark Bonneau and Helen Beers.  There is currently one vacancy for this Board position.  Office Manager and Recording Secretary is Brenda Klein, Engineer is Reilly Associates, Solicitor is H. Clark Connor, Esq. and Alternate Solicitor is Richard Deetz, Esq.

Brenda Klein is the Sewer Authority Office Manager.  The Sewer Authority Office is located in the Stroud Township Municipal Center, 1211 North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg.  The telephone number is (570) 421-5043 and fax number is (570) 421-5062. 

Effective January 1, 2011 the quarterly sewer rate is $170.00 per EDU.

Meetings are held the fourth Monday of the month at 7:30 PM at the Stroud Township Municipal Center.
